               Luke 11:1-13

Last time: Feeding the 5000
 - God provides even when we do not ask
 - God required each servant to “do the
   impossible”
 - God provided each of the servants a
   full basket
 - Five loaves = fingers
 - Two fish: 2 = love, fish = faith, food
   = love

This time:
 - He asks something from us
 - That is: to ask of Him

Luke 11:1 (Prayer)
 - When we go to the Father,
   we RESPOND to HIS REQUEST.
 - TALK TO ME. You are not just creatures.
   Talk to me and say, Our Father.
 - He says: Come to me all you heavy
   laden, and I will give you rest.
 - When we pray, we are ANSWERING HIM.

Luke 11:5 - persistence - knock

Luke 11:9-13 - ask, seek, knock

- ask   - faith - fish  - ...
- seek  - hope  - egg   - ...
- knock - love  - bread - ...

  ... receive - mouth - mind   
  ... find    - eye   - spirit 
  ... open    - hand  - body   

v.13 bread = good gifts = holy spirit

Rom 8:24 - hope seen is not hope

1 Cor 13:13 - faith, hope, love

GREATEST COMMANDMENT - Mt 22:36

FERVENT PRAYER - The effective, fervent
                 prayer of a righteous
                 man avails much.
                 (James 5:16b)
