Unicode Primer

If you would like to write in Greek, Coptic, Cyrillic, Armenian, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and many other languages together in one document without fussing with fonts, if you want to type in any of these languages using your own personal keyboard layout, and if you want others to be able to read your text in absence of the font or keyboard layout or computer system you used,
then you need to read this primer.

Unicode is the international, de-facto standard which defines the characters and codes for all the world’s type scripts. It is supported by all the major computer vendors.
